A duchy on the Sto Plains, formerly ruled by an uncle of Queen Keli's (then Princess Keli).

The former Duke of Sto Helit managed to successfully assassinate his brother (Keli's father) and would have very nearly managed to kill Keli herself were not for the intervention of Mort. Of course, he does make another attempt in person at the coronation, but his second attempt fails along with the coronation when both were swept along with the changes in reality. He was later killed when his hourglass is shattered during the duel between Death and Mort.

After proving untrustworthy as Death's apprentice, Mort became the Duke of Sto Helit and the title provides Susan's surname now.

Various references to Sto Helit during the events of Lords and Ladies, reveal that the city is something of a centre of haute couture, (to the inhabitants of Lancre at least,) and appears to be the Ramtop-dweller's gateway to the Sto Plains.
Adora Belle Dearheart is the object of Moist von Lipwig's affections, which she returns grudgingly during most of GP, with the exception of the end; in MM they are a couple and are planning to marry when Adora finds the time. As is obvious from Moist's nickname for her, "Spike", she isn't that adorable, nor is she a 'dearheart', yet Moist has fallen in love with her. The nickname given by her late brother John Dearheart is more honest and straightforward: "Killer".

She works for the Golem Trust, and often makes sure that their well-being is being taken care of, as well as their rights.

She mostly wears heels and dresses which are tight, severe and ostensibly modest. She also smokes like a chimney. Her whereabouts can be determined by asking the tobacconists, or simply finding a huge cloud of cigarette smoke and heading toward the middle of it. Efforts to dissuade her from smoking are generally futile and any long time without a cigarette is likely to put her in quite a bad and, for the people around her, dangerous mood. The only Discworld resident as yet known to have succeeded in stopping her from smoking is the Librarian, who does not put up with that kind of thing around books.

Adora's appearance, demeanour and, especially, cloud of tobacco smoke suggest to some that she may be an avatar of the goddess Anoia (and Lela before her.) This would put Moist in an odd relationship with both the goddess and her worldly manifestation.

She has no fear (people who know they are in the right always have no fear), a sarcastic sense of humour and will speak frankly and candidly to the Patrician himself. Vetinari appears to appreciate this character trait, to the point where he will affably bait her just to provoke a response (in much the same way that a man might use a long stick, poked through the cage bars, to gently prod a tiger so as to be able to assess the results from a position of safety).

She has even resisted arrest from, and attempted to assault, Sergeant Detritus of the Watch by trying to stab his foot with her heel. It is uncertain as to whether lack of fear, or sheer incandescent rage, was dominant at the time, but it earnt her a broken heel (of her shoe), a twisted ankle and a night in the cells. Moist von Lipwig recalls an event when she put a stiletto (heel) through a man's foot while smoking after she lost her temper.

Anghammarad is a character in the novel GP. He is a golem, almost nineteen thousand years old, having been baked by the priests of Upsa in the Third Ning of the Shaving of the Goat. He was also given a voice. However, Upsa was destroyed by the explosion of Mount Shiputu. He then spent two centuries under a mountain of pumice, before it eroded away. He then became a messenger for the Fisherman Kings of the holy Ult.

More recently, he delivered the decrees of King Het of Thut. That is, he delivered them until the land of Thut slid under the sea. He then spent nine thousand years in the deep ocean hearing the song of whales and watching the ships of the dead float past on deep currents, before being netted by a fisherman. Having returned to civilization, he still carried the message warning Het that the sea goddess is angry, and hoped to deliver it. Golems believe time is cyclical or doughnut-shaped (a ring doughnut-no other culinary details have been ascertained), and Anghammarad thought that if he waited long enough, he'd be able to get it right the second time around. As time has gone past he has periodically had to transcribe the message or find a new container for it, but it is still bolted to his arm.

He worked for the Ankh-Morpork Post Office (in the honorary position of Extremely Senior Postman) before his briefly white-hot ceramic body was engulfed with cold water while fighting a catastrophic fire in the post office building. The resulting explosion ended his existence. He subsequently asked Death to allow him to remain in The Desert, the entrance to the afterlife, equating in an absence of tasks to perform with perfect freedom.

Miss Adora Belle Dearheart practically hero-worshipped him, and Postmaster Moist von Lipwig and the Postmen were in awe of his dedication to his task.
